Mode of Action
TRINTELLIX Mode of Action†
The antidepressant effect of TRINTELLIX is thought to be related to modulation of serotonergic neurotransmission in the CNS through mechanisms that include inhibition of reuptake of serotonin at the 5-HT transporter and activity at several serotonin receptors.1
The precise contribution of the individual targets to the net effect of TRINTELLIX and the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.1
5-HT=serotonin; CNS=central nervous system; SNRI=serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor; SSRI=selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor
