Mode of Action
PrTrintellix® Mode of Action*
The antidepressant effect of Trintellix is thought to be related to modulation of serotonergic neurotransmission in the CNS through mechanisms that include inhibition of reuptake of serotonin at the 5-HT transporter and activity at several serotonin receptors.1
The precise contribution of the individual targets to the net effect of Trintellix and the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.1
5-HT=serotonin; CNS=central nervous system; SNRI=serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor; SSRI=selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor
* Clinical and comparative clinical significance has not been established.
